At what time will I receive the moving boxes I ordered?
We deliver moving boxes on weekdays between 8 am and 4 pm. You do not have to be home to receive the boxes. We can leave them in an agreed place, for example in the hallway or carport. If you have a door code, you should give it when making the order.

Does Niemi deliver moving boxes on weekends?
We mainly deliver moving boxes on weekdays between 8 am and 4 pm. In the capital region (Helsinki, Espoo, Vantaa, Kauniainen) we also deliver boxes in the evening between 4 pm and 9 pm. By agreement we can also deliver boxes at a specific time during the day, evening or on weekends, in which case the delivery charge will be based on our normal hourly rates.

Can I pick up/return my boxes?
You can pick up boxes and packing supplies and return them to one of our locations on weekdays between 8 am and 6 pm (in Vaasa between 8 am and 4 pm). You can order moving boxes through our NiemiShop online store at the latest one weekday before you need them.

Are moving boxes included in the price of the move?
We charge a daily rent for the boxes, unless otherwise agreed. You should inquire about possible campaigns when making your order.

Do I need separate insurance for my move?
Niemi has insured its personnel against work-related accidents. Niemi has also taken out general road transportation insurance to cover movables in accordance with the Act on Road Transportation Agreements. Niemi’s liability and insurance only covers damage caused by Niemi’s own personnel. We insure items in storage against break-ins, fire and water damage up to 15,000 euros per customer. The insurance does not cover money, securities or precious metals.
If necessary, customers can take out separate insurance for the day of their move through Niemi. We will give a separate quotation for the insurance.

What size are the Niemi vehicles?
We have three different sizes of vehicles: vans, small moving trucks and large moving trucks. Vans are suitable for transporting individual items such as couches or a small number of boxes. Our small moving trucks are suitable for studio apartment moves (approx. 30 m2 or less). In case of larger homes and long-distance moves, we recommend a large moving truck as it allows you to move all your belongings at once, in a cost-effective and environmentally friendly manner. Our service includes the vehicle and the driver.
Due to possible vehicle restrictions (height, vehicle weight etc.), you should discuss your needs with one of our sales representatives to make sure that we provide you with the right size vehicle.

Do I need to protect my belongings? How?
All your belongings should be appropriately protected before your move. Appropriate protection means that you have packed your belongings in accordance with our instructions. Customers are always responsible for packing their belongings appropriately, unless otherwise agreed. If the items to be moved have not been appropriately packed, Niemi will not pay compensation for any damage.

How much will my move cost?
The price of a move depends on several factors, for example the size of your home, amount of goods, distances, number of floors, availability of a lift and carrying distances. The size of your home, amount of goods and conditions affect the number of movers needed, which is directly linked to the costs of the move.

The starting time given for my move is 12 pm – 3 pm. At what time will the movers show up?
We start afternoon moves within a three-hour period. The actual starting time depends on when the crew is done with the previous move. The crew will call you to give you a specific time before they leave our office.

Will the movers do installation work (lights, washing machine etc.)?
We will do installation work as per our agreement. When making your order, you should inform us of the type of installation work required so that our crew will have appropriate tools with them. Please note that we do not do any installation work that requires special skills (e.g. electrical or plumbing work).

Will I have to pay for the meal breaks the movers take?
Niemi employees, just like everyone working for a similar service company, are entitled to take the statutory coffee and meal breaks. The number of breaks depends on the duration of the move. Coffee and meal breaks are included in the total price charged for the service.

Will the driver also carry items during the move?
Our drivers are primarily responsible for loading and unloading the vehicle. They also give advice and help with the move as much as possible. For this reason you should have other people to do the carrying so that your move will go as smoothly as possible. If necessary, the driver will also take part in the carrying. Why did I get a separate bill for the move and the moving boxes?
Moving boxes are usually returned a couple of days or weeks after a move and our invoicing team will send an invoice for the boxes once they have been returned. On the other hand, our invoicing team usually receives the documents regarding the actual move soon after the move and thus the invoice is sent to the customer sooner.
