Niemi’s fossil-free fleet and removal vehicles
Niemi’s fleet has operated without fossil fuels since 2019. Our 136 vehicles run on electricity, biogas or renewable diesel. Modern technology and regular maintenance help reduce energy use and emissions.
Finland’s most extensive moving fleet is purpose-built for moving. Tailboards, padded walls and load-securing rails help keep your belongings safe in transit.
Forerunner in sustainability
Since 2019, our entire fleet has been running fossil-free.
We have a total of 136 vehicles, of which 14% run on electricity, 29% on biogas and the remaining 57% on renewable diesel.
We use renewable diesel, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions by up to 90% compared to conventional diesel. Biogas is a renewable, 100% indigenous fuel.
We charge our electric cars with renewable electricity. Some of our EVs also have solar panels on the roof, which provide electricity to power the car’s peripherals.
We keep our transport fleet as new as possible and take advantage of the opportunities offered by new technology to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. We regularly maintain our transport equipment to minimise fuel consumption and emissions.
Vehicles equipped for removals
We have the most comprehensive range of vehicles in Finland equipped specifically for moving. All our removal trucks are equipped with a trailer board. The walls of the load compartments are padded with felt and the load tie-down rails are embedded in the wall, which prevents scratching of the transported movables during loading and unloading. The load compartments also include chandelier hooks and hanger bars.
Some of the larger removal trucks have a side-opening load compartment, load compartment heating and electrical connection of the load compartment. The electrical connection makes it possible, for example, to change the freezer with the power on.
